Name: Philip Feast
Job Title: Wealth Manager and Director
Tell us about your role:
I view my role at Taylor Money as comprising of three parts.
First and foremost, I am a wealth manager and the majority of my time is spent looking after my clients. This includes undertaking regular reviews as well as ad hoc communications when needed. My goal is to empower clients to make sensible decisions regarding their long-term wealth planning.
Much of the rest of my time is spent as a director and part of the senior management team. This includes being the firm’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). I work closely with my fellow directors to discuss, agree, and implement the long-term strategy for Taylor Money.
Finally, I also established and chair Taylor Money’s charity committee. This ensures that we are regularly setting aside time to think about what charitable projects and initiatives we can get involved in as a team. This role would be impossible without the help of Jess Money and my fellow committee members who bring ideas and energy each time we meet.
What do you like about your role:
There are so many things I love about my role. The first thing that comes to mind is the variety. In any given day I might be talking to a client about their holistic planning, a technical tax point, or having an in-depth conversation about markets. When the phone rings, I never know what the topic will be and I really enjoy that.
I also love building strong and enduring relationships with my clients who I ultimately view as friends. The ability to simplify complex topics and enable clients to feel confident about their financial affairs is something I take pride in.
I also enjoy working with fellow professionals to enhance the work we do. Whether it is accountants, tax specialists or solicitors, I firmly believe that the best outcomes for clients happen when there is a well-functioning team looking after them.

What is great about living and working in Cornwall:
I have lived in Cornwall for more than 16 years. I moved down from Nottingham on a ‘temporary’ basis in June 2009 but, once I arrived, I knew I would never be going back.
Every time I finish work, I am effectively on holiday. I have always thought that and that feeling never leaves me when I am walking along the beach after work or heading for a surf.
I also like that we have the London office which affords me the opportunity to regularly spend a few days in The City. I find this inspiring and a good opportunity to meet new contacts, gain fresh ideas and perspective that I can bring back to the business in Cornwall.
Tell us something about yourself:
My wife and I will be celebrating our 15th anniversary next year, and we also have a three-year-old daughter who has enriched our life beyond words.
Despite having a busy work schedule, I still find plenty of time to surf, travel, and play padel – my new obsession!
A lesser-known fact about me is that I swam competitively as a child. I stopped when I was 15 years old and took up water polo instead, but there were a few swimming goals I never quite achieved and, last year, I went back to train with the Masters at Newquay Cormorants. I then entered 4 events at the Cornish Masters Championships in April, winning 2 gold and 2 silver medals. Not bad for 6 months of training at the grand old age of 37.
