Position: Trainee Paraplanner

Job description: Working at the heart of our advice process, you will join our paraplanning team as a trainee. Initially, you will spend a period of time within the Client Services Team to understand the core operations of the business. This experience will equip you with a comprehensive understanding of our processes and client interactions. Following this, you will transition into the paraplanning team, where you will become a skilled and knowledgeable paraplanner, helping our wealth managers deliver high-quality advice to our clients. We will provide support for you to undertake a comprehensive training plan that includes both practical skills and exams, and once complete, you will become a qualified Level 4 paraplanner with the CII Certificate in Paraplanning.

The right candidate should have a systematic, consistent, and structured approach to their work with great organisation and communication skills. You will be technical by nature and driven to learn all there is to know about paraplanning, becoming a real asset to the Taylor Money paraplanning team.

Daily Tasks

• Communications: discussing cases with advisers, preparing reports and letters, contacting providers as part of the research process, communicating and working with the Client Services Team when sending out reports, client correspondence when necessary (mostly email).

• Preparing and maintaining client files: confirming risk profiles and client objectives, identifying information, compiling cashflow analysis.

• Organising recommendations: identifying areas for planning, conducting research to find solutions, working with advisers to select appropriate asset allocations and investment strategies, preparing high quality and often complex Wealth Planning Reports.

• Implementing recommendations: completing application forms (where necessary), ensuring all compliance paperwork is in order, implementing plans with the help of the Client Services Team.

• Reviewing client files, portfolios products and processes: reviewing portfolios, working closely with the wealth managers to help add value to this process.

• Processing business: seeing cases through from start to finish, completing and checking paperwork, interacting with clients and companies to ensure information is correct, chasing for information and action where necessary and recording data on XPlan.

• Project management: take ownership of various advice-specific projects with the guidance of the wealth manager and management teams and be responsible for the delivery and reporting of these projects.

• Maintaining a tidy work environment: helping keep the office organised and tidy and a great environment to work in.

• Attend company events: support the team at various events to meet and greet clients and professional contacts.

Skills and requirements essential for this role:


• High level of attention to detail regarding written communication including spelling and grammar.

• Positive can-do attitude, motivated and willing to learn.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and manage/prioritise a busy workflow.

• Ability to explain and convey technical concepts in a clear and understandable format.

Salary:
Starting salary of £25,000 per annum (plus bonus and benefits).

Location: Taylor Money Ltd, Marina House, North Parade, Falmouth TR11 2TF

Hours:
Full-time (9am – 5pm Mon-Thurs, 8am – 4pm Fri)

Position Start Date: 1st August 2025 (N.B. Applications are to be received by Monday 9th June, with first interviews scheduled for the week commencing Monday 16th June).
