It’s National Apprenticeship Week (4th – 8th March 2019) and we asked Tamsyn Jose, who we introduced to our team in September 2018, how she got into an Apprenticeship here and why she’d recommend Apprenticeships to others.

She said: “I started by looking online on the Government Apprenticeship website for vacancies near me for Administration Apprenticeships.  I saw that Taylor Money were advertising so I applied whilst also applying for a few others. I had 3 interviews in the same week and I got offered all 3 places, but Taylor Money were working in the sector that I liked the sound of – Financial Services.

My job role includes scanning files, valuations, typing up dictations (letters, emails and file notes) and answering the phone.  As well as working in the office, I also attended Cornwall College in St Austell once a week for 12 weeks which finished in December, and now I have ongoing support from my college tutors and my colleagues at Taylor Money.

I am 7 months into a year long Apprenticeship and would definitely recommend it as a route to get into the workplace.  As well as giving me a great skill base, it also offers the chance to earn whilst you learn.  It suits me as I am young and it has started me on a great job path, and I’ve also made some great friends in doing so.”

Operations Manager at Taylor Money, Freya Randall-Money, said: “Taking on an Apprentice was about investing in and supporting someone to become a skilled administrator. We have already seen increased productivity in this vital department of the business which is now more robust, which in turn will support our future needs and growth. Tamsyn is already an extremely valued asset to Taylor Money.”
